Bi-Coastal Cafe has been at the Oregon Country Fair since at least 1974 as far as we can 'member. We are a group of folks who get together once a year to combine challah bread, organic blue berry compot, real organic maple syrup into the best bi-coastal french toast AS WELL as flat bread, chicken, carrots lemon-yogurt-dill sauce and alfalfa(!) sprouts. More on that under "Menu", if you want to know/learn the "schtick".
Our booth is #328 located down at Pooh Corner near Main Stage right next to the Pizza Co and across the street from Blazing Salads Bi-Coastal Fair Map
Starting before 1974 we were all one booth with the Pizza Co. In around 1977 we had a philosophical difference with some (mostly one, strong-worded) booth member. Because of those differences (To spell it out, are we here to make money or for the party/experience?) We determined that we would give up the larger part of the physical part of the booth (because, really, it's not about the physical, but really about the experience, and we don't need physical space to encompass that)...So we began a journey of tranformation that had to do with changing annually (and not about becoming a BRAND) So, at first, we were "Bueno Burgers" and then each year we changed...to whatever our fancies struck us, from Chicken-on-Schtick, Schtick to It, Wraps N' Salads, Wraps N' Kabobs, to Bi-Coastal See Fair Photos

It takes an amazing amount of people to make french toast and walkabouts from sunup till the wee hours of the night. To find out how to work at Bi-Coastal, send Peggi an email peggirobart@gmail.com I try and figure out who is coming to the fair by April 15th for camping passers and by June 15th for day passers.
We are almost always looking for folks who want to work as a day pass person. This allows you to arrive via the FREE WORKER BUS as early as 8 AM to hang out until your shift. Work when the paths are crowded (3 hours when it's busy) and then chill. You get to be IN with the IN crowd, but not camp out. The Sweep starts around 7 PM at the back of the Fair and by the time the whole thing winds down at the front entrance (where the FREE buses take you back to Eugene) it's about 9 PM and a VERY FULL day. This means you come to the fair during the day, work for 3 hours anytime between 7 am and 7pm. You can come for one day, or several. You could also camp off site, like with the crazy boothies at Zumwalt, or across the street at Darlings Reunion. We will pay for your admission into the fair, give you food and a place to hang your hat while you are running around the fair. It's a sweet deal AND for those who choose this route, it gives you an IN with Peggi, our cheerful Queen and leader who looks approvingly on those who wish to work into regular Crew positions.
We distribute our precious camping passes and teen passes (ages 13-18) on the following list of priorities.
• All folks who receive a camping pass must come to work for our booth from Wednesday before fair through Monday cleanup
(unless through special arrangements with Peggi)
• All folks who receive a camping pass need to work at least ONE weekend day pre-fair
• All folks who receive a camping pass need to work at least one early morning shift, or a late night shift or be a crew leader.
• Everyone is asked to work a minimum of 5 hours a day. Hey! That gives you 19 hours to play and semi-sleep! That's plenty!
We have more folks wanting camping passes that meet the above criteria, so, you may wonder - how are decisions made?
Peggi makes them based on the on the following criteria.
• Seniority, folks who have come before get priority. The more years you have come, the higher your priority.
• Folks who help with prefair shopping/cooking and post fair cleanup also get priority.
• Folks who help with prefair Booth Rough-In, Booth Foo Foo, and Brigadoon/PharDoon Setup also get priority.
• To get into the fair you must have advance tickets. You can get tickets at TicketsWest. Check out their website at ticketswest.com.
• Advance tickets cost $18 for Fri., $21 for Sat and $18 for Sun. Kids under 10 free.
• Parking costs $5 each day.
• Camping around the Fair is $40 per person for the whole weekend. You need to buy advance tickets for these places.
The Country Fair website is great!! They have more details on camping and details about Carefree Campground, Darling Reunion or Zumwalt Campground. Go to ticketswest camping to buy tickets for campgrounds
